FireTV Chennai is looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented software engineers who has experience in building innovative, mission critical, high volume cloud systems that powers our world-class content forward experience for millions of customers. As a senior software engineer in this team, you are expected to build high performant recommendation systems for FireTV, powered by numerous data pipelines integrated with bigdata and Machine Learning. You identify betterment for current architecture, “Think Big” and propose scalable design, identify the impact to FireTV ecosystem, lead teams for successful rollouts. You continuously look for improvements that excite our customers, show bias for action and get it done.

Key job responsibilities

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you are the tech point of contact for the team, evangelize the ideas to leaders in your org and external orgs. You will play a lead role in defining North Star architecture for your systems, work with teams, and build it incrementally. You should be able to take short term and long term trade-off by working backwards on customer experience. You will be the operational experience champion for your team, identify areas to reduce operational overhead, optimize the cost, build best practices for your team and the wider FireTV org.

As a Sr. Software Engineer you raises the quality bar for the team with your every code and design artifact. You will help grow junior engineers, mentor them in the role and lead them with empathy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
