Educational Qualification:

Assistant Engineer (Electrical):

Must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering from an institution /University duly recognized by the Central/state government.

Desirable: Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointments in peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.

Age Limit ( As of 1 October 2023): 18 – 45 Years 

Age Relaxation: 

S.C. of H.P. / S.T. of H.P. / O.B.C. of H.P./W.F.F. of H.P./Persons with disabilities of Himachal Pradesh – 5 Years

Selection Process of HPPSC Recruitment 2023:

The selection process includes a Screening/Preliminary exam and Personality Test

Paper-I:  A Computer Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of one hour duration having 100 marks consisting of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with negative marking for incorrect/ wrong answers

General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh = 30 Marks,

General knowledge of National and International Affairs= 30 Marks,

Knowledge of Hindi language = 20 Marks,

Knowledge of the English language = 20 Marks 

Paper-II: A descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) of three hours duration having 120 marks as per the syllabus to be decided by the Commission from time to time

Note:- 

Where there are only a few posts for filling up and the ratio between the number of eligible candidates and the posts advertised is below thirteen, then all of them shall directly be called for a Personality Test except posts of Assistant Professor (College Cadre) where all the recruitment shall be made as per method prescribed as above.

In all other cases, the selection will be done by the Commission by subjecting the applicants to two types of written papers/ tests to be conducted on the same day in two sessions, followed by a Personality Test in the following manner:

There shall be a negative marking(0.25) in all the objective type screening tests/ examinations

Minimum pass marks in the Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) to qualify for the Personality Test shall be 35% for the candidates of the General category and 30 % for the candidates of reserved categories.
